Conditioning
Condition twice a year with a neutral cream. Apply thinly, let it absorb overnight, then buff. Over-conditioning clogs the grain.
If it gets wet
Blot, never rub. Dry at room temperature away from radiators and sunlight, then condition once fully dry.
Storage
Use a broad wooden hanger for jackets, cedar trees for shoes and lay vests flat. Rotate footwear so it can dry between wears.
Genuine vs faux leather
Full-grain leather shows pores and small natural marks, smells sweet rather than chemical, and warms to the touch. Faux leather has a uniform printed grain and creases sharply.
